MAJOR CHANGES + GIVEAWAY!

Hi everyone!

So school started.  Poop.

So yeah I'm making some major changes to my blog. I'm changing literally everything (except maybe the reviewing).

Since I started this blog over 2 years ago I've become completely obsessed with something known as fandoms.  Fandoms are basically a following of fangirls who are emotionally damaged and completely dedicated to a certain book (or anything else).

I have an Instagram for this, and this blog has kind of taken a back seat.  But the problem is, I really love reviewing books and talking to other readers.

So here's what I'm going to do. I am going to change this blog into a multi-fandom news source.  I will change the design and name, and I will post bookish/movie-ish things on here.  I will still be reviewing books, just maybe not so many review books or ARCs.  But I won't be doing anymore memes or blog tours.

I am in the Hunger Games, Vampire Academy, TFIOS, Divergent, and TMI fandoms, so I will post everything and anything from those fandoms.

The change begins now.  If some of you don't like that I changed my blog, I completely understand.  If you want to unfollow, that is perfectly fine.  No hard feelings :)

I hope that some of you do stay, though, and I hope that we can talk and interact a lot while suffering through the feels of fictional characters and movies.

This change will also allow me to post more often because instead of just posting reviews (like I have been for a while) I can post other things as well.

And, because I feel like it, I am going to be doing a HUGE  giveaway!

It happened on Halloween. The world ended. And a dangerous Game brought it back to life. Seventeen-year-old Michael and his five-year-old brother, Patrick, have been battling monsters in The Game for weeks. In the rural mountains of West Virginia, armed with only their rifle and their love for each other, the brothers follow Instructions from the mysterious Game Master. They spend their days searching for survivors, their nights fighting endless hordes of “Bellows”—creatures that roam the dark, roaring for flesh. And at this Game, Michael and Patrick are very good. But The Game is changing. The Bellows are evolving. The Game Master is leading Michael and Patrick to other survivors—survivors who don’t play by the rules. And the brothers will never be the same.

Baalboden has been ravaged. The brutal Commander's whereabouts are unknown. And Rachel, grief stricken over her father's death, needs Logan more than ever. With their ragged group of survivors struggling to forge a future, it's up to Logan to become the leader they need—with Rachel by his side. Under constant threat from rival Carrington's army, who is after the device that controls the Cursed One, the group decides to abandon the ruins of their home and take their chances in the Wasteland. But soon their problems intensify tenfold: someone—possibly inside their ranks—is sabotaging the survivors, picking them off one by one. The chaos and uncertainty of each day puts unbearable strain on Rachel and Logan, and it isn't long before they feel their love splintering. Even worse, as it becomes clear that the Commander will stop at nothing to destroy them, the band of survivors begins to question whether the price of freedom may be too great—and whether, hunted by their enemies and the murderous traitor in their midst, they can make it out of the Wasteland alive.
In this daring sequel to Defiance, with the world they once loved forever destroyed, Rachel and Logan must decide between a life on the run and standing their ground to fight.

Burning Blog Tour Stop

Burning
by Elana K. Arnold
Pages: 320
Release Date: June 11, 2013
by Delacorte Press

Goodreads / Purchase
Ben: Having just graduated from high school, Ben is set to leave Gypsum, Nevada. It's good timing since the gypsum mine that is the lifeblood of the area is closing, shutting the whole town down with it. Ben is lucky: he's headed to San Diego, where he's got a track scholarship at the University of California. But his best friends, Pete and Hog Boy, don't have college to look forward to, so to make them happy, Ben goes with them to check out the hot chick parked on the side of Highway 447.
Lala: She and her Gypsy family earn money by telling fortunes. Some customers choose Tarot cards; others have their palms read. The thousands of people attending the nearby Burning Man festival spend lots of cash--especially as Lala gives uncanny readings. But lately Lala's been questioning whether there might be more to life than her upcoming arranged marriage. And the day she reads Ben's cards is the day that everything changes for her. . . and for him.

Guest Post:

I am a big fan of research, and so far all of my novels have allowed me to fall into interesting worlds. I become kind of obsessed with my subject matter while I’m researching, and I begin to see my “special interest” all around me. When I was writing SACRED, I delved into Kabbalah; for BURNING, I got to research Romani people, gypsum mining, and the Burning Man festival. What a wonderfully rich combination of topics!I love Google. I think that had I been writing BURNING fifteen years ago, it could have taken me years to gather the information I needed to write it. But in the magical world we inhabit today, I was able to find out-of-print collections of Romani poetry and fables, connect with an agronomist who send me pictures of the gypsum mine where he works, find Burners who were eager to share their stories, and read articles about the real town of Empire, Nevada, on which I based Ben Stanley’s town of Gypsum. In fact, it was a picture in one of these articles that inspired the opening scene of BURNING—Ben and his friends skating in an abandoned gypsum mine. I can’t seem to find that picture again, but here’s a link to an article about the town: http://www.reviewjournal.com/news/nevada-and-west/empire-death-nevada-company-town. I originally heard about Empire by chance, just listening to NPR as I drove. Here’s a link to the transcript of that interview: http://www.npr.org/2011/06/20/137304964/shuttered-plant-marks-the-end-of-a-nevada-town. I had already decided that my female protagonist would be a Romani Gypsy, and when I heard that the residents of Empire mined Gypsum, my Scooby ears stood up. Then I learned that Empire was located near the entrance to Burning Man, and I knew I had discovered my setting, and the home of my male protagonist Ben Stanley. Really, everything about BURNING is linked to that setting—the desperation, the shuttering of a town, the hard choices, the end of things, the blistering heat and unrelenting, oppressive sun.

Today I am featuring...

Kara Taylor
And she will be doing an interview and giveaway!

Prep School Confidential
by Kara Taylor
Series: Prep School Confidential #1
Pages: 304
Release Date: July 30, 2013
by St. Martin's Griffin

In this breathtaking debut that reads like Gossip Girl crossed with Twin Peaks, a Queen Bee at a blue-blooded New England prep school stumbles into a murder mystery. Anne Dowling practically runs her exclusive academy on New York’s Upper East Side—that is, until she accidentally burns part of it down and gets sent to a prestigious boarding school outside of Boston. Determined to make it back to New York, Anne couldn't care less about making friends at the preppy Wheatley School. That is, until her roommate Isabella’s body is found in the woods behind the school.
When everyone else is oddly silent, Anne becomes determined to uncover the truth no matter how many rules she has to break to do it. With the help of Isabella’s twin brother Anthony, and a cute classmate named Brent, Anne discovers that Isabella wasn’t quite the innocent nerdy girl she pretended to be. But someone will do anything to stop Anne’s snooping in this fast-paced, unputdownable read—even if it means framing her for Isabella’s murder.

Author Interview:

1. Why did you decide to become a writer?
Becoming a writer actually happened by accident! I always loved writing, but I knew I had to have a practical career plan as well. I was actually going to college and studying to be an English teacher when I wrote my first book and wound up signing with an agent and getting a deal.

2. Who were your biggest influences?
My grandparents always encouraged me to read and write at a young age. My 101-year-old grandma still has the first picture book I wrote! But my biggest influence was my 11th grade English teacher, who before I graduated, told me "I want a shout-out in your first book." Before then, I never thought I had what it took to sit down and finish a book. Her words helped me realize I had a story in me after all.

3. Where do you like to write?
I'm most comfortable in my room, at my desk. But I'm most productive somewhere quiet, like my college campus library, where I wrote most of PREP SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL.

4. Do you have a special routine you like to do before you write?
I have to make myself a cup of coffee from my Keurig machine!

5. When and how did you get the idea for Prep School Confidential?
I always loved the boarding school setting, and procedural mysteries. Anne's voice came to me first, then I was really inspired by shows like Veronica Mars/The Killing/Twin Peaks.

6. Is there another book in the works?  If so, what can we expect?
Book 2 of the PREP SCHOOL CONFIDENTIAL series is complete, and I'm working on Book 3 now! You can expect lots more mayhem at the Wheatley School, as Anne investigates a decades-old cold case and unearths some secrets that she wishes had stayed buried.

THIS OR THAT
1. Dark chocolate or milk chocolate?
Milk!

2. Cats or dogs?
I have both, but I am a dog person.

3. Hardcover, paperback or ebook?
Depends on where I'm reading. If I'm traveling, e-book. If I'm at home relaxing, a paperback.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE?
1. Movie?
Almost Famous

2. Ice cream flavor?
Rocky Road

3. Animal?
I want a teacup pig so badly! Pigs are so cute.

4. Book?
That's like picking a favorite child! To Kill A Mockingbird is my all-time favorite classic, but my favorite book in recent years is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.

5. Actor and actress?
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschannel.

6. Fictional character?

Anna from Anna and the French Kiss. She's my girl!

Sizzling Summer Giveaway

The Book

As a college senior and server at Hanaford Park's hottest nightclub, twenty-one year old Ryann Pierce's plan was simple: work hard, make lots of money, and avoid the ass-grabbers at all costs. What she never planned for was Quinn Donegan—the living, breathing advertisement for sinful behavior that waltzed into her life.

With an angelic face, a hard body and a butt-load of charm, Quinn had a way with the ladies—a lot of ladies. Cursed with a deadly, addictive touch, his trail of indiscretion blazed across five hundred years. Tired and jaded, Ryann is a shocking revelation Quinn didn't see coming.

Filled with desire, yet unable to touch one another, Ryann and Quinn embark on a daunting journey, battling frustrating physical limitations while exploring their new love. In a race against the clock, Ryann learns she must plead for Quinn's life before…the Eve of Samhain. Determined to end her lover's suffering, not even the danger dogging her every move can keep her from her mission.

The Guest Post

Quinn's been around for a long-ass time. So, as I'm sure you can imagine, his music collection is…extensive. He's got an unhealthy (according to Ryann) obsession with 80's metal bands, and a deep respect for The Pogues. Basically, he'll listen to just about anything, with the exception of polka music, which, according to him, is "useless shite not fit for anyone's ears".

Below is a list of the ten most frequently played songs on his iPhone as of June 1st, 2013. Keep in mind, Ryann is with him ninety percent of the time, so her music preferences play into a lot of what you see below. Quinn likes to keep his woman happy. Swoon!
