Top Ten Six Beach Reads

How My Summer Went Up In Flames by Jennifer Salvato Doktorski
This was the first road-trip book I've ever read, and it was such a fun, hilarious, light-hearted book, perfect for the beach.

My Review

Going Vintage by Lindsey Leavitt
As you can tell from the title and cover, this one was pretty interesting, but very fun and entertaining at the same time.  Fluffy contemporary haha.

My Review

Perfect Chemistry by Simone Elkeles
This was a much darker contemporary than the first two, but it was still really awesome and you could read it on the beach...just make sure you hide the cover - you might get some strange looks ;P

My Review

Don't You Wish by Roxanne St. Claire
Sci-fi and contemporary!  Who knew right?!  This one was soo unbelievable amazing, a fun book with a more serious undertone...and look the girl on the front actually looks ready for the beach haha.

My Review

The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
You can't have a list of contemporary books without including Sarah Dessen.  It's like against the law.  This is one of her lighter books (because she does sometimes write stronger contemporaries about bigger issues).

My Review

Along for the Ride by Sarah Dessen
I should get bonus points for featuring Sarah Dessen twice.
I really have to re-read her books this summer!

  2. Great list! I've never actually read anything by Sarah Dessen. I know, I'm a disgrace to the blogosphere. I really want to read How My Summer Went Up in Flames and Going Vintage. They look really good! Here's my TTT

  3. Great picks! I love Sarah Dessen. I just bought Along for the Ride at HPB for $1 over the weekend so that I can re-read it. :)

  4. GREAT picks!! I'm so ashamed to say I STILL have not read a Sarah Dessen book. I have several, and just haven't read them. I've promised myself I will read one this summer though... any recommendations?? :D
