Poison Study TV Show Fancast

Since I finally wrote and posted a review of Poison Study, I figured I should take it one step further: I should do a fancast for the movie or tv show adaptation that will never be, but that the story deserves.

Before we start, let me just refresh your memory on what I'm talking about and, if you live under a rock and haven't read this amazing series, introduce you to:

Yes, the covers are the tiniest bit cringey, but we're working with it. Anyway.

Let's begin.

BUT FIRST. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS SO TREAD CAREFULLY actually they're only in the Commander section, everything else is fine.

Ok, now we'll begin.

The Commander is a very strong, intimidating soldier and is very uniform and regal. I know someone whose cheekbones fit all those descriptions.

I mean come on. This screams Ambrose to me. Banana Cucumber here can absolutely play an intimidating authority figure. He has the piercing eyes, incredible posture, deep, authoritative voice, and an eloquence in the way he speaks. I mean look at this.

Regal as fuck.

Also, he makes a decent woman.

Now, on to some lesser known characters who I still managed to find an actor.

First, the Power Twins.

Janco is described as big but not huge (I mean he's smaller than Ari), he's muscular and agile, quick and nimble, and a total smartass. I give you Alex Høgh Andersen.

I mean, just look at him. He's beautiful. I will admit, I feel like Janco was a bit bigger, like taller and more muscular, but Alex has the personality and the look. I always envisioned Janco as dark haired and looking like a bit of a shit-starter, and to me, Alex fits that perfectly. I found him on Vikings and his character is a bloodthirsty, slightly insane viking, and he completely kills it, so he obviously can act his ass off, and I know he can bring Janco to life. I mean

look how cute he is. He could totally play the smartass that can also kick your ass. He has that glint of mischief in his eyes that is Janco's trademark characteristic.

See, look at the sass. I can totally see him sparring with someone and taunting them with his rhymes. And Janco excels at bo fighting, well guess what?

ALEX GOT SOME SKILLS he's the nonblonde one btw PLUS

WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO SEE MORE OF THIS ON THEIR SCREEN?! I MEAN COME ON

This man is absolutely Janco.

Yup.

Now, Ari. Ari is basically a blonde mountain, he is incredibly strong and muscular, and Synder said she imagined him as a rugby player. Now, this one is a bit of a stretch since the dude I chose is a little old, but when I thought of big buff muscly actors, this is the image that popped into my head.

Take a minute, drink it all in. Can you guess who owns that incredibly tight backside?

THIS GUY. MY MAN, JAMES MCAVOY. Besides the fact that I have the biggest crush on him he is the perfect man for this job. THIS GUY CAN ACT, MAN. Look at this picture, now imagine him with blonde hair, and BOOM, you got Ari. Hell, he could even keep the beard. Also, as luck would have it, Ari totally has an incredibly thick, sexy Scottish accent and wow what a coincidence, so does James. Wow, it's just crazy how perfect he is for the role, damn. Too bad Ari doesn't have many lines.

Plus, look at his fighting skills.

Ok just kidding.

But I'm telling you,

any man that can get out of a car this smoothly can kick anyone's ass. Seriously. It works.

Or Ari can be played by the actor who gets all the buff blonde dude roles

but I say,

I want James.

ALSO do yourself a favor, go on Youtube, and watch his interviews, YOU WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.

NEXT.

Irys, one of the Master Magicians, is the first magician Yelena comes in contact with. Since she's from Sitia, she has a tanned complexion, and since she's so powerful, she exudes confidence. I give you Roselyn Sanchez.

First off, she is stunning. Second, I saw her in The Game Plan and yes of course that movie screams badass magic fighting, I know. Anyway, she was a dance teacher in it, and was incredibly graceful and refined, and I think she would kill it as Irys and I just googled gifs of her and the first thing I saw was her seductively licking a banana.

I STILL STAND BY MY DECISION. I can't find any gifs to back up my claims but JUST TRUST ME ON THIS.

And now, for the grand finale, Yelena and Valek.

Now I'm going to admit, I tried to find someone to fit Yelena by myself but you would be surprised how few non-white young actresses there are in Hollywood (actually, maybe that isn't so surprising, hmmmmmm) so if I actually had to look up lists of Latina actresses. But I found the perfect person. I give you Odette Yustman.

Not convinced? Look at this.

YES. JUST YAAAAASSSSS.

She is of Spanish-Cuban descent and she looks just like Yelena did in my mind. She has beautiful, long, dark hair, and her face is the perfect shape, she is pretty yet fierce, seems the right height and body type, and she has darker skin just like Yelena does since she's from Sitia. The only thing is she's a little old but honestly it's completely normal for thirty year olds to be cast as teens so SHE'S PERFECT.

Yelena is a badass fighter. Well guess what?

AND BAM.

I MEAN COME COME ON. IF THIS

AIN'T YELENA, I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS.

And now, for her other half.

Valek is described as having a sharp, pale face with piercing blue eyes and black hair that goes down to his shoulders. I envisioned him as Snape, and it was not pleasant. But then I did a Google search on who other people thought could play Valek, and my entire life changed.

YES. JUST YAAAASSS. LOOK AT THOSE FUCKING BABY BLUES AND THAT ANGULAR FUCKING FACE WITH THAT SHARP ASS JAWLINE FUCK KNIVES BABY BOY CAN KILL HIS ENEMIES IF THEY SO MUCH AS LOOK AT THOSE CHEEKBONES ok let me calm down. I have a plethora of evidence as to why Hiddles here is the perfect Valek. Brace your ovaries, they're about to be under attack.

1. He looks hella hot with long black hair. Suck it, Snape.

I MEAN COME ON. HE IS GLORIOUS.

2. Valek is described as lanky and thin but well muscled WELL LADIES AND GENTS, GUESS WHAT

YUP

3. Valek is a badass assassin so can Hiddles get down with the weaponry and pull off the swag of a kickass fighter?

FUCK, I NEED A MINUTE. THE ANSWER IS YES. I NEED TO RECOVER, THAT WAS TOO MUCH FOR ME TO HANDLE, HE HAS TOTALLY GOT THE SWAG AND THE SKILLZ Just ignore the obnoxious goat horns GOD I'M MELTING.

AND I'M NOT LETTING YOU GUYS GET OFF EASY BRACE YOURSELF FOR ROUND TWO don't say anything ok

He's got it all. He's just Valek. He has the demeanor, the smolder, the confidence, the sparkle in his eyes, the shrewdness, the face.

So there it is, the people who would simultaneously make my life and kill me with their attractiveness if they ever appeared on my screen. Seriously though, this series deserves a TV show, it is so incredibly complex and deep, they could pull at least 5 seasons out of this story.
