Jacqui asks Fiona and Jonah Tarsis to help find Dean, since he disappeared while leading their mother to safety. They immediately agree, and together they all quickly set out—along with Fiona’s boyfriend, Bowen—in search of their loved ones. Top Ten Books On My Spring 2019 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I can't plan ahead very well so finding books for this list was harder than it should have been. Normally I choose what I read based on what feels right, what I want at that moment. I don't put too much pressure on myself, but this is a list of books I have in mind to read, and also the ARCs I will hopefully be receiving soon.

There is no cure for being stung. Fiona doesn’t remember going to sleep. But when she awakens, her world no longer exists. Her house is abandoned and broken. Her neighborhood is barren and dead. And there is a tattoo on her right hand. A tattoo Fiona doesn’t remember getting…but somehow she must conceal at any cost. Because humanity has been divided. Those bearing the tattoo have turned into mindless, violent beasts that roam the streets and sewers, preying upon the unbranded, while a select few live protected inside a fortresslike wall, their lives devoted to rebuilding society and killing all who bear the mark. And Fiona has awoken branded, on the wrong side of the wall, and…normal. From the author of Shifting comes this remarkable reimagining of Sleeping Beauty, where the sting of a bee, rather than the prick of a needle, can destroy the world.

Poison Study TV Show Fancast

Since I finally wrote and posted a review of Poison Study, I figured I should take it one step further: I should do a fancast for the movie or tv show adaptation that will never be, but that the story deserves.

Before we start, let me just refresh your memory on what I'm talking about and, if you live under a rock and haven't read this amazing series, introduce you to:

Boom.

Yes, the covers are the tiniest bit cringey, but we're working with it. Anyway.

Let's begin.

Weekly Wrap-Up #2

Weekly Wrap Up is a recurring post I will share every Sunday that summarizes all the bookish events from the past week. It's more of a diary entry for me than an interesting post for my followers, but I like the idea of being able to look back in a few years and see exactly what happened during a specific week on my blog. So, here we go!

Sunbathing, surfing, eating funnel cake on the boardwalk—Lucy loves living on the Jersey Shore. For her, it's not just the perfect summer escape, it is home. And as a local girl, she knows not to get attached to the tourists. They breeze in over Memorial Day weekend, crowding the shore and stealing moonlit kisses, only to pack up their beach umbrellas and empty promises on Labor Day. Lucy wants more from love than a fleeting romance, even if that means keeping her distance from her summertime neighbor and crush, Connor.

Then Superstorm Sandy tears apart her barrier island, briefly bringing together a local girl like herself and a vacationer like Connor. Except nothing is the same in the wake of the storm. And day after day, week after week, Lucy is left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart and broken home. Now with Memorial Day approaching and Connor returning, will it be a summer of fresh starts or second chances?

Top Ten Places Mentioned In Books That I’d Like to Visit

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I intended to only feature books with real places I would like to visit, but I quickly realized that I read way too much fantasy and fiction to make that possible. I have a couple realistic travel destinations, but the overwhelming number of them are, sadly, impossible to actually visit (unless there's a whole amusement park created in its honor, like Harry Potter). Speaking of Harry Potter, yes of course I would want to visit Hogwarts and that world, but that's basic. Everyone is going to say that. I'm going to be different™ and list other books. So without further ado, here is my list:

I wasn't free of my past, not yet.

Sydney's blood is special. That's because she's an alchemist - one of a group of humans who dabble in magic and serve to bridge the worlds of humans and vampires. They protect vampire secrets - and human lives. But the last encounter Sydney had with vampires got her in deep trouble with the other alchemists. And now with her allegiences in question, her future is on the line.

When Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, at first she thinks she's still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. But what unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir - the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir - is in mortal danger, and the Moroi must send her into hiding. To avoid a civil war, Sydney is called upon to act as Jill's guardian and protector, posing as her roommate in the unlikeliest of places: a human boarding school in Palm Springs, California. The last thing Sydney wants is to be accused of sympathizing with vampires. And now she has to live with one.

The Moroi court believe Jill and Sydney will be safe at Amberwood Prep, but threats, distractions, and forbidden romance lurk both outside - and within - the school grounds. Now that they're in hiding, the drama is only just beginning.

Top Ten Books I LOVED with Fewer than 2,000 Ratings on Goodreads

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I never realized until I had to look for these books just how small the number "two thousand" is. Honestly, I bent the rules a little bit and found books with fewer than five thousand ratings.
